The concept of this main title was to foreshadow the end of the film/novel. Ralph, the protagonist, is forced to make an escape from the children he previously considered companions. As he flees, animal imagery is used as visual metaphor to communicate Ralph's inner developing thoughts of his pursuers.
The version of the film referenced was released in 1963 and directed by Peter Brook. William Golding was the author of the original novel.
