The Dallas Public Library System is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony this Saturday at 10 a.m. for the new Highland Hills replacement Branch Library to be located at 6200 Bonnie View Road. Jo Giudice, Director of Libraries, says this new branch replaces the current facility on Simpson Stuart Road, built in 1979. The city’s 28th branch library will be designed to achieve Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, with energy efficient lighting, air conditioning, and water-wise landscaping. Other features will include 24 public computers, WiFi access, self-checkout stations, an expanded auditorium and classrooms with state of the art audio visual equipment for community activities.
