Millions of lives have been lost in DR Congo in recent years as a result of ongoing conflict. Dont let that number loose you. Every single one of those lives was a person like you and me.
This is a raw vignette that I cut immediately after having shot and experienced a small amount of time in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2009.
This piece is very personal to me. I find it hard to explain with words the great darkness and even greater beauty that you experience in such a place. I will never forget the people I have had the privilege to meet in Congo. They are apart of me.
This footage is part of a documentary about two child soldiers, currently in post production produced by Discover the Journey. Find out more at DTJ.org
