Bazooka got hurt. A blow to the head from a cow, horse, sheep, or a fight with one of the other tom cats in the neighborhood. Or some person hit him with something. Anyway, he wandered into my garden growling, and I saw something was wrong at once. Took him to the vet who cleaned up his wounds and neutered him in the process. Because the left side of his face was swollen, we feared he had a broken jaw or a torn palate. None such was the case, what a relief! His upper lip was torn some, and now it's clear he has a vertical wound alongside his left eye.
The vet said Bazooka had to be kept indoors for at least a week, so his wounds could recover properly. Oops. How does one keep a stray (feral, although he's quite the cuddly bear by now) in a strange house, where 2 cats and 2 dogs live?
But we manage. Built a small bunker underneath the desk, and since this morning he feels secure enough to walk around the room. When I clean up his place, he's in the travel carrier in front of the open window, to enjoy some fresh air and birdwatching ;-)
