From 1966 to 1970 Gyronaut X-1 was the fastest motorcycle in the world, having set a record on the Bonneville Salt Flats of over 245 MPH. In 1970, Gyronaut's record was broken. In an attempt to reset his record, Rider Bob Leppan crashed at nearly 300 miles an hour when a piece of the front chassis snapped.
SInce, then Gyronaut mostly lay in disrepair. But over the last several years, Gyronaut has been restored to its former beauty. This video gives a brief preview of that restoration.
