Action art for vexed body and biophysical media
(Xth Sense Biosensing Wearable Technology)
While I pull with bare hands 50kg concrete blocks in a circle, low frequency acoustic sounds are produced by the resistance of my muscle and the pulsating blood in my veins. These sounds are digitally amplified, encoded in an audiovisual scape and diffused by eight loudspeakers and a video projector.
Recorded live at Inspace, Edinburgh, UK, February 2012.
Xth Sense is:
- a low-cost biosensing wearable hardware device;
- a DSP modular software for capture, analysis and processing of biological sounds of the body (Pure Data-based).
Designed and developed by Marco Donnarumma with the support of:

Dorkbot ALBA @ Edinburgh Hacklab.
