After watching this short film I know some of you will think I am seriously messed up and need to be checked into a mental hospital. This film was created to reflect my feelings for the past 8 months. I went through one of the darkest periods of my life. I was constantly arguing with my parents. It felt like I lost all my friends. I had never felt so lonely before. Stress from school was killing me and most of all. I tried to make a girl I had fallen in love with love me back. I had no idea how to handle my emotions. I just wanted to get away from it all. Hockey became my life. I had never had so much desire to just go out in my backyard and skate. It felt like I was getting away from everything and everyone that was bringing me down in my life. My photography and film had never turned out so good. It may sound stupid but my emotions were pouring into every picture I took and every clip I edited. However, that wasn’t enough to get away from it all. For those of you watching this, put yourself into the video. Everyone is different. That is what makes our world so great. This simply reflects me. I challenge you to find the meaning of this film and apply it to yourself. Maybe you can relate to LOVE. Maybe you can relate to WITHDRAWAL. Maybe you can relate to LONELINESS. Maybe you can relate to DEPRESSION. What ever it is, I hope you can find some meaning. Lastly, no Prime Light Media members have any intent on self-harm or suicide. If you’re a staff member at school watching this, don’t you come pulling me out of class, putting me on suicide watch and telling me I need to go to therapy everyday. All the blood used was fake, scars, well I’ll leave you to decide. This video was not influenced by Arthur Kelso or Wyatt Young. Filmed and edited by Arthur Kelso, Ross Pingatore and partially by Wyatt Young. A special thanks to Megan Doherty for song choices, scene development, and inspiration. Lastly, for some background information, the necklace at the end that is attached to the noose is from the killing fields in Cambodia. It is made from bullet shells and means HOPE in Khmir. I hope you enjoy Prime Light Media’s first short film. I do not own either songs used. All rights go to Daughter and Gary Jules for Youth and Mad World.
