With all of the depressing news on TV and social media, I'm doing my best to stay optimistic about the flooding in my city. Rather then be glued to my computer screen with the 'flood' of bad news, I took to the streets of calgary to try and capture what I saw. I was surprised to see a lot of fellow Calgarians walking the streets, talking with one another and sharing their condolences for our City. I began to feel proud and my spirits lifted as I began to talk to the multitude of complete strangers both young and old.

The rain stopped and the sun came out. We all watched as we noticed that the water levels had gone down. We reassured each other and talked about rebuilding our beloved city. It was indeed a bitter sweet day but I can most definitely say that I am a true Calgarian and I'm proud to call this beautiful city my home.

Everything will be alright...
