The panoramic, epic, awesome, fantastic Bergensbanen or Bergenline is a unique railway route between Oslo and Bergen in Norway.
This video shows just a short fragment of the eight hours lasting journey. The landscapes I watched are deeply impressing because of the long time going in a high speed into the direction of the highest point in Norway: Finse: 1222 meters above the sea level.
Haugastøl is 1000 meters above sea level, on the edge of the largest highland plateau in Northern Europe at the border of two national parks: Hardangervidda and Hallingskarvet National Park.
In fact the Bergensbanen brings you to the roof of Norway, where only mountain tops, snow, much lakes, rivers and emptiness fill the windows of this incredible transport machine: a train.
If you would like to travel on this route: you have to order tickets for it.
The next video will contain filmparts of the track between Haugastøl and Finse.
