It is important that the Bible be translated into different languages, but also important that those receiving Scripture will be able to read it. This is why literacy plays a crucial role in the work of Bible translation. Manjak Bible translators and literacy specialists in Senegal work in partnership to ensure that when the translation is finished, the Manjak people will be able to understand it and apply the gospel to their lives. As the Manjak people receive portions of Scripture, they have been reading it for themselves. And those who cannot read have had God’s Word in Manjak read aloud to them. Praise God that everyone who has heard the Word of God has received it with joy!
Wycliffe’s mission is to see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025.
