The eagle god Garuda is back for his next act in the Balinese Cuckoo Clock, an art experiment under way at Pataphysical Studios. Neglected by his master over the summer, he lost his head in the art garden, but just found a new one and is now fully integrated, sliding in and out of his box, while shaking his head and flapping his wings. Four different motors now control his motion, powered by Arduino. Next, this prototype will be replaced by a beautiful character created by our Balinese friend IB Anom: the gold-plated temple doors will open and close around him, as he sings words of wisdom punctuated by Gamelan music.
