Calvin Video Network is a student-led and student-run group at Calvin College. CVN produces a wide variety of programming, much of it based on on-campus events. For example last year they created and covered a campus-wide rock-paper-scissors contest! CVN also strives to stay connected to the Grand Rapids community and to cover local events when possible, especially local events that have a strong connection to the Calvin student body. In October 2008 CVN garnered media credentials for a campaign stop at Calder Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids by Senator Barack Obama and the students arrived at 5:30 a.m. with local, state and national media to cover the event. This video clip was used to illustrate stories on Calvin's Web site about the work of CVN and is not intended as an endorsement of either Senator Obama or Senator John McCain, but rather as an example of the enterprising work of a Calvin student org.
