The CNVC is designed to encourage students and community members to create new and sustainable businesses in the Champaign-Urbana area. The competition promotes the development of the entrepreneurial character through collaboration among and competition between teams. Finalists and winners had the opportunity to meet with venture capitalists, early stage investors and successful entrepreneurs who served as judges for the semi-finals and finals round.
The chosen finalist teams were IntelliWheels, Joseph Elble, OrangeQC, ScheduBot, UTicketIt, and Wi-Go. These six teams each had an opportunity to pitch a 10 minute business plan in order to compete for several cash awards and valuable in-kind prizes.
