When Jack and Angeline came to us with their story, we weren't sure if we would be able to produce a convincing piece that will showcase Jack's proposal at Maldives. Jack showed us some photos of their private chalet at Maldives, and that sent us searching for locations... the project thus started.
The shoot took 2 days & a half. It should have been 2 days if not for some bad weather on day 2.
In a bid to create the best works, most pre-wedding shoots are tiring and taxing on the couple. However we have always felt that it is possible to have a shoot that allows the couple to focus on having fun, and not the end product. The end product video will thus no longer be the objective, it becomes a by-product.
This shoot with Jack and Angeline was carried out with this approach in mind. It was 2 days of fun for the couple as they experience acting together. We believe this video will remind them more of the fun than their story.
Special thanks to Popular Bookstore Singapore for granting us the permission to film in their store at Bras Basah. We felt their generosity again when the sale personnel brought out a stack of the same notebook that Angeline bought yrs ago! We thought it is no longer in production!
I had a cameo moment in the clip too. I was wearing green. Haha! How often can you get your client to "knock it down" for you?
It was a wonderful experience shooting Jack and Angeline too. They appear so natural in the clip. No voiceover was used. The visuals tells the story entirely.
Technical note: This was captured with a 5Dmk2 and a 60D. Lenses used includes 16-35, 24, 35, 50, 85. A tripod, a monopod, Glidecam 4000 Pro and a self-fab bearing slider were used. Done by 1 cinematographer throughout.
