Alexandra Vivas has established herself as a Director | Kameragirl who works as a freelancer anywhere the job can take her. She integrates her work with the art world, participating in multimedia shows and film collectives. She moved to NY and continued developing her career as an associate Producer and Director of Photography in the documentary for HBO, HABLA MAS IN CHICAGO, nominated "Best Documentary for Television or Film" at the 2007 Imagen Awards. She collaborated with friend and colleague Angel Barroeta as a Producer and Director of photography for the short film A MONKTON FAMILY CHRISTMAS winner of the 48 Hour Film Festival, Miami short Film Festival 2007, and official selection at CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2008.
Alexandra recently directed and shot the short film FUSION ( fordistafilms.com ) winner of the 2013 Miami Filmgate that will continue running in different festivals around the world.
During the last decade, she has worked with clients such as HBO, MTV, MTV3's, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, FORD Motors, Continental Airlines, among others. She is a certified PADI underwater shooter which is letting her integrate the art world and camera work in a single view.
