Certified Broadcast Meteorologist

Amy Freeze joined Fox Chicago in March of 2007. She was previously a meteorologist at NBC 10 in Philadelphia and has worked at newsrooms in Denver and Portland. She has multiple college degrees in science and broadcast journalism. Amy has mastered the technology of multiple weather systems including dual pol radar, WSI, Weather Central and Avid. She is an active social networker with large followings on Facebook and Twitter.

Amy recently reached her goal of speaking to 25,000 students in the Chicago area. She created a weather program and activity book that was accepted by area schools for curriculum requirements. She has hosted “Fox At The Sox,” a stadium promotion with the White Sox to promote weather education. Her web site hosts weather experiments for educators to use.
Amy is the official forecaster for the Chicago Bears and appears at all home games to deliver weather segments from the field. She is a sideline reporter for the Chicago Fire MLS team when games air on Fox O&O My50.
