Embracing the use of many mediums, Anna Binta Diallo investigates narrative through memory and nostalgia. Interested in the woven identity, her work is nourished by fantasy and the unconscious, as she blends elements of her existent history with imagined fantasies. Much like a dream, her work is familiar yet foreign.
Born in Dakar, Senegal, Anna Binta Diallo grew up in Saint-Boniface, the francophone community of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She earned a BFA from the University of Manitoba’s School of Fine Arts, and studied Digital Technologies in Art and Design Practices at Concordia University’s School of Art, and is now pursuing an MFA in Creative Practice at Transart Institute, in Berlin.
