Anne Beal is an American filmmaker and musician living in Chicago. She studied animation at the Rhode Island School of Design and her thesis film, Balance and Swing, premiered at the Annecy International Animation Festival in 2013. Anne’s work has since screened at the London International Animation Festival, Annecy 2014, and other festivals in France, Poland, Armenia, Canada, and the United States. Her music videos have been featured in NO DEPRESSION, Paste Magazine, NPR and PBS. In addition to fiddling for a Chicago-based honky tonk band, Anne’s violin work can be found on the albums of underground bands as well as the soundtracks of independent films. Anne Beal currently teaches Experimental Animation and Animation 1 at SAIC, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
