Khan is a filmmaker, film festival director, festival strategist and film educator from Canada. Born in Pakistan, Khan believes in cinema as a catalyst for change. He hopes to make films that shed light on subjects that are ignored by the mainstream media. He is interested in realism in cinema and the new wave in South Asian cinema, yet not restricted to any one cinematic genre.
Khan has worked as a writer, director, assistant director, production manager, art director,
continuity supervisor, editor and prop master. He worked as an art director and buyer on the film MIDNIGHT’S CHILDREN (2012), directed by Deepa Mehta.
Khan’s debut documentary film THREADBARE (2009) was an account of Canada’s ‘War on
terror’. THREADBARE has premiered at the Mumbai International Film Festival.
Currently developing feature film projects in Canada and Pakistan.
