Starting out as a young noise trio from Italy, Aucan quickly built themselves from the ground up. They fused their philosophical and music conservatory backgrounds with elements of electronic and experimental rock, forming a sound both technical and visceral. with the material from their 2010 DNA EP and subsequent Black Rainbow album, the underground music community began to take note. Their “live” sound incorporates elements of techno, electro and dubstep, yet doesn’t fall into clearly defined categories. With their amalgam of electronic basses, live drums and sweeping harmonized synth lines, they throttled audiences of thousands, opening for Tricky, Steve Aoki, Matmos and Antipop Consortium among others in the 300 plus concerts they have performed since 2009. In 2012 They’ve been personally invited by Placebo as the supporting band for part of their tour and they’ve shared stage with The Chemical Brothers. They’ve been playing important festivals such as Fusion in Germany and Marsatac in France and their latest remixes include tracks by Die Antwoord and Bloody Beetroots among others. Beside being a band, Aucan also tour as a Dj / Vj set duo mixing techno / footwork banging vinyls with original projections created by themselves, driving crowds into a wild psychedelic experience.
