B1 Bicycles quietly opened its doors May 5th 2007. The store featured a selection of locks, caps, wheel sets, some tires and a frame or two. We didn't even have any complete bikes for sale!! From these humble beginnings came a trusted, honest high quality Columbus bike shop that keeps growing year by year. In order to get the business off the ground founder Casey Karnes took on a second job at Betty's fine dining as a dishwasher in addition to his job as a bicycle messenger for a major law firm. Saving all the earnings everyday for 2 years he finally had enough saved for building supplies rent, utilities, and a little inventory. After opening the doors Casey was fortunate to have two friends, Sally McCloud and Nathan Ober and his girlfriend (now wife) Maika Carter available to run the store while Casey kept his job as a messenger. Fast forward to 2009 B1 Bicycles employs 7 outstanding industry experts and has over 50 bikes in stock. B1 Bicycles business principals are simple, stock and sell quality bicycles parts and accessories, charge competitive rates and offer and deliver excellent, knowlegedable service.
