Born and raised in Haifa, Israel, Bat-Or Kalo traveled to the United States to further her studies in classical and jazz music. She currently resides in New York City and has toured as a solo artist, as a trio and with other bands as lead guitarist, performing in NYC, Albany, Boston, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Kalo's debut album, Flesh & Bones, is a jazz/pop collection that received critical attention in both Israel and NYC. She is currently recording her sophomore album inspired by country, blues and rock and roll that will be released by Mission 66 Records this winter. Kalo has been compared to the sounds of Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash and the White Stripes.
