Folders have been around for a while. In real life, they’ve kept documents organized and secure since the 1800s. In the beeps and boops of our computer world, folders have been the way to organize since forever, and we’re excited to release folders as a way to manage your Vimeo videos.

Folders are for organizing your videos behind the scenes. They don’t affect how your audience sees your videos. For that public-facing stuff, you can stick with channels.

When you look at all your videos, you’ll now see the option to create a folder. To move videos to a different folder, you can drag and drop videos, or just make your selection and click that Move button. And if you want to take a step back, you can still see all your videos in the All Videos tab. The whole thing’s pretty straightforward. One thing to keep in mind is that if you delete a folder, you will also delete that folder’s videos.

It’s a pretty basic structure, and wonderfully easy to use. Sure, folders aren’t the most cutting-edge tech we’re working on, but they’re incredibly helpful for organizing your videos, collaborating across teams, and making sure your files are private and in the right place.

This is part of our commitment to provide a home for all of your video management needs. Not only will folders help organize your videos and collaborate with people, they’re another tool (like video review pages and the Adobe Premiere Pro panel) to consolidate your workflow so you don’t have to constantly switch between different apps, emails, and files.

Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to hear your feedback!
