What's going on Vimeo? It's the end of the week and that means we have an awesome weekend project for you. It's called "Infinite Zoom" and is inspired by this great video by Tim Rutten.

zoom from Tim Rutten on Vimeo.

The goal is to always keep the camera pushing forward, never stopping, not for a wall, not for a human, into... INFINITY. Let nothing stop you as you let your camera push through all obstacles in your path. Try quick zooms, slow zooms, medium speed zooms, whatever you wish just make sure that camera is always moving forward. INFINITE ZOOM. Check out this video that we took to the INFINITE ZOOM MAX:

Feel free to play with creative transitions and make some crazy video, seriously make it yours! The winner of this contest will get a free Plus account or if you're already a Plus member we're going to let you gift the Plus to whomever you choose (along with an extra 2.5 GBs of upload space)! The runner-up will receive an extra 1 GB of upload capacity whether Plus or not.

Your video length should be around 1-2 minutes and totally awesome (I know they will be). Submissions are due Tuesday, Nov. 9th at 11:59PM (EST). Submit your video to the Weekend Project Group or you won't be eligible for the contest. Only videos made specifically for this project will be considered. All submitted videos must be approved by the Vimeo Staff, so don't fret if your video does not show up at first, we'll go through all the submissions early next week.

AAARRGGH! Why did you guys make it so hard to choose!? Seriously, so many great entries for Infinite Zoom.

It was tough but this weeks winner is none other than Ben London with his video Infinite Zoom!

And our for our runner up Katie Rowland with her video a frosty, raspberry-flavored infinite zoom!

Congratulations guys and keep making awesome stuff!

if i have time i'll try to make one.
i have one that is almost an infine zoom out.
it's not infinite because it's not all the time but it changes a lot the relation between objects in the image.

Cracked me up, that last one! Infinite zoom in definitely inspires panic (who wants to get that close to ANYTHING).

Maybe I'll try zooming AWAY, lol!

This shall be my first attempt at a weekend project. Please be gentle and play romantic music.

If we already have a plus account but it's expiring can we renew it with the first place prize??

If so...I may try a little harder...

What an interesting project. I wish I would have logged onto Vimeo and looked this up a long time ago.

Mr. Brothers Plus

I shot some stuff on Saturday and started editing last night. I'll finish the edit tonight and submit it as well. I hope people like mine, and I look forward to seeing what others have done...

consider it done, cool concept and i can't wait to put my spin on it.
