Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you've probably witnessed the hubbub surrounding the release of Apple's new iPhone 4. Vimeo has been aflutter with footage taken with these small but mighty devices, like Marty Martin's music video for Cascades. To celebrate this new era in video making, we've cooked up a weekend project to match!
The challenge is to create a video no longer than 2 minutes using your phone. If you don't have an iPhone 4, don't fret (I don't either!). Any mobile device that can take video is fair game. The catch? Your video must be a narrative. Tell us a story! If you need a little inspiration, check out Apple of My Eye by Michael Koerbel. We also suggest that you check out the iPhone Cinema channel.
Oh, and one more crucial thing, your story has to include the line, "You can't come in here with that."
Make sure to submit your video to the Weekend Project Group. Please note that the Community Staff will approve videos for inclusion into the Group and will also be selecting the winning videos.
The winner gets a Plus account (for Basic members) or 25,000 HD Embeds (for Plus members). The runner-up gets an extra 1 GB of upload capacity (for Basic users) or 10,000 HD Embeds (for Plus members). Make sure you only submit videos made specifically for this weekend project!
Submissions are due on Tuesday (7/6) at 11:59PM (EST).
We're looking forward to your submissions. Don't let us down you guys!
UPDATE- The winner is Simon Guyomard's video "The first series ever shot on a mobile!" and the runner up is Tony Carretti with "Running Wild.". Thanks for your submissions everyone and have a great week :)
