I'd like to shine the light on our friends over at 4SP FIlms. I recently stumbled upon the video Tartine Bread and was dumbfounded by its ability to make one man's story of delicious success so universal and compelling. Upon further investigation, I discovered an entire repertoire of elegant documentaries-- each authentic, concise and moving in its own way.

One of the great strengths of the Internet is of course the possibilities for collaboration. An intense "Why didn't I think of that!?" moment was experienced on my part when Steve introduced me to the Animation Hotline Channel this morning. The concept is so beautifully simple; animator Dustin Grella invites Vimeans to leave messages on his answering machine, which he will then depict in expressive moving chalk. I think these works are best viewed as a series, but I did find Fingerprints especially poignant.
