I started making shorts with a few of my friends in high school after I bought a small Sony HDD camcorder. We would mostly improvise scenes and spent our weekends emulating the shows we watched like SNL. It was through the parody of our shorts that I fell in love with film-making. I attended the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory, where I was taught film theory and film production. Rather than just simply using techniques to imitate a style, I came to understand the reasons behind those styles and the amount of detail and planning that goes into executing a film.
With the knowledge from my studies, I decided to apply my love for satirical works and created a couple of films that focus on the ever-changing world we live in. Whether the subject is about consumerism or the digital culture, my shorts have explored the consequences of overindulgence in a world constantly looking to sell you something.
