Bristol Media’s mission is to help support and grow an exciting and competitive creative/media network in the city.

We’ll work to help:

Promote and celebrate Bristol’s creative industries and the wealth of expertise, services and skills that are home here

Encourage new business opportunities and new clients to procure creative services from Bristol companies

Attract the most exciting and experienced creative talent to the city whilst helping to retain and support it’s brightest and dynamic new stars

We have 4 core priorities for the next 3 years (2008 – 2011)

1. Increase the visibility of our creative companies and people to a national and international audience as part of an ambitious and innovative sector with a ‘can do’ enterprising attitude.

2. Develop industry inspired initiatives to retain and attract creative staff by developing training, skills and enterprise opportunities to further strengthen the creative gene pool.

3. Foster a sense of community by sharing knowledge, sector insight and personal experience.

4. Represent sector and industry interests to policy makers and opinion formers by lobbying local, regional and national government around the importance and value of retaining and growing a vibrant creative sector within the city.

Background

Bristol Media was established in 2005 and has now grown to be the city’s biggest network with over 3000 members from over 1100 companies and organisations (May 2008).
