Casper de Boer's current directing projects include the documentaries Burned, and Look How Beautiful, and the live-action short I’m a Horrible Kid. He's an associate producer on the acclaimed documentary God Loves Uganda, by Oscar winning director Roger Ross Williams, which premiered at Sundance in 2013.
After studying drama at the College of the Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Casper made his film debut as an actor in The Assault, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Within a few years he played leading roles in a number of Dutch movies, working with internationally renowned film directors like Theo van Gogh.
Casper then moved behind the scenes, starting as assistant-director, and building a career in casting, script writing, editing, and movie marketing and distribution. He worked as Director of Publicity at Cinemien, a pioneer in independent film distribution.
