Main Street Theater is celebrating its 40th year with a new theater building. In just seven months, Arch-Con Construction's Community Division demolished many parts of the old building located in the historic Rice Village Shopping Center in Houston, Texas and built a new place to for Main Street to entertain. The building was originally a dry cleaners and not built to theater standards. The new theater fulfills the vision of its supporters, actors and lifeblood of the organization.
Executive Artistic Director Rebecca Greene Udden describes here what inspired this new building and how the production 'Working' fits so well into their 40th anniversary performance schedule.
