Old Training Videos. Before qualifying with their weapon, Soldiers are first taught how to manage and control their weapon at a group and zero range. Soldiers are taught the basics of ballistic flight, trajectory impact of weather and temperature, and how to align their weapon sights to adjust for changing conditions and distances.
Old Training Videos. In order to complete basic combat training, all Soldiers are required to pass a Rifle Marksmanship Qualification Course. Soldiers fire at targets ranging from 50m to 300m from three positions; prone supported, prone unsupported, and kneeling.
Old Training Videos. In addition to their personal weapon (typically an M16 or M4 rifle), Soldiers are also taught how to operate "crew-served" weapons such as the M240B Machine-gun. These weapons are called crew-served because they usually have 2-3 man teams to manage the different components of the weapon (gunner, assistant gunner, and on some systems a loader).
Old Training Videos. The Fit-to-Win course is a classic obstacle course. It is used early in basic training to instill confidence in new Soldiers; confidence in themselves. It is part of a series of events together with the rappel tower (trust in equipment) and the final obstacle course (trust in teammates).
