Lost, written by Tez and Jody, was recorded in our little bungalow in the coconut grove 2 days before Tez left for the land of Oz where he's gonna shake the music industry tree. This video and recording was a way we could help him generate the interest that he so richly deserves...
Tez is a ridiculously talented lad, who's life experience has turned him into the kind of person you'd be lucky to have as a friend..
There is no half-way with Tez, he just gives everything he's got..
Reading his "CV" is a pretty damn impressive thing! Who knew that this genuinely humble guy has written songs for some of the U.K.'s top bands: Blue, Top Loader, and yes, some of the spice girls...).
By the age of 20, he had received 2 "four time platinum selling disc awards" for music he had either written, co-written and/or produced..
When Simon Cowell (ya, you know who i mean), was the ANR for RCA, Tez met with him in a posh room somewhere within the U.K.'s RCA mega-corp, and Simon was quoted as saying "It's a smash..it's perfect..!" regarding a song that Tez co-wrote called "Girl Thing" for a big "a la Spice Girls" type RCA project that sadly got shelved in the end.. but that's the music biz.
Tez's life, from the age of 13 reads like one of those crazy cool novels that you'd love to read.
We met Tez here, on Koh Phangan at the Jam, and we instantly knew we had a new little brother.. And Jody?.. that's another long story..
A rocket launch. a mash-up of NASA vid, and the absolute marvel of traveling through space, meshed with some experimental chill-in music we created, comes together in this slightly over 1 minute vid.. John Glenn, the original rocket rider, has our absolute respect..
On the audio side, Slow to Wake evolved as an experiment in multi-melody. It was a near finished piece sitting in our "works in progress" file which was needing a proper mix. The idea for the visual side provided the momentum needed to "get 'er done". It was a fantastic experiment delving into public domain images. Our two computers were jamming back and forth, emailing mp3's across the room. One of us working the audio mix simultaneous to the other building the visual, both of us very much influenced by what the other was doing. We strongly recommend headphones!
