Fresh insiders' eye-witness views of the 1970's alternate culture, radical politics, avant-garde art, sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.

The 10 pirate video pioneers Videofreex shot thousands of videos together from the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969 through the height of Soho NYC, to their media center / pirate TV station / communal home from 1971 to 1978.

Videofreex were precursors to Vimeo, YouTube, cat videos, music videos, reality TV, fake news, SNL, Democracy Now, America’s Funniest Home Videos, video diaries, crowd sourcing, etc. etc. They were first to carry video cameras around all the time.

The Freex have rejoined as Videofreex.com producing 21st Century edits with informational titles, image restoration, sound improvement and excerpts. Productive in the 70s, now in their seventies, the Freex continue to produce creative videos, photography, visual arts, writing, and digital publishing.
