Wieden + Kennedy in Shanghai approached Shotopop to help out with making a video to entice people to take their online creativity test and ultimately join their team.
The nice peeps from W+K wrote the base for the script, and we worked with them from there on to define the characters, style, and general tone of the video. The video features some swanky jumps, a sexy girl behind a photo-copier, a hungry Dino and an OctoShark!

Scenes from the documentary "Megacities: Shanghai," shot by Nathan Mauger on Canon 5d and 7d.
This was the first real documentary job I did entirely with 5d/7d. It was much easier than I thought, even though the main lenses I used were all primes. Not really any unexpected issues with the cameras…
The second character is a therapist who treats people with emotional problems from living in a big city. She has many strange treatements, only a few of which made it into the documentary. My favorite one involves being hooked up to a machine and looking at a flower on a TV, then little sparkles start coming out of the flower… Notice the horror movie clown by the entrance of the office…
The actual documentary is narrated in Swiss-German. So I made a montage of some of the footage set to music as a kind of preview for us non Swiss-German speakers... I also filmed Megacities: Tokyo...
