  2. artists: Arcade Fire / The Rolling Stones

    songs: "Emotional Rescue" & "Supersymmetry"

    description: unofficial mash-up music video

    edit + remix: JNS '14

    for: Lou Reed (March 2, 1942 – October 27, 2013)

    NOT FOR SALE

note: Trick or Treat Arcade/Stones fans! I had the Rolling Stones'
"Emotional Rescue" stuck in my head, along with Arcade Fire's
"Supersymmetry". Being a person with autism, the only way I
could deal with it constructively was to create a mash-up video
of both songs on my mac.. I understand that when the band Phish
performs "Emotional Rescue" live, it can last up to 15 minutes, so
9 minutes seems like a relatively short play time by comparison…
Somebody asked me if I got paid to edit this, so it must look somewhat
professional. The truth is I just wanted to show that Arcade Fire somehow
included the Stones' hook-line in their song. No doubt it was done as an homage…
Making things move backwards (from the original "Reflektor" video) was a fairly
easy effect to achieve in final cut pro. Lip-syncing was a bit trickier. The sepia
tone makes it all very over the rainbow, imho… Watch for Lou Reed's cameo,
which was borrowed from U2's Zoo-TV, and was inspired by the movie "White Noise"…
I thought about titling the video "Arcade Fire vs. The Rolling Stones…" but why
must everything be a contest? Also, I don't think Arcade Fire could blow away the
Stones with a song like "Supersymmetry". "Wake Up", maybe. Nevertheless, if
there's a battle of the bands in heaven, it might resemble this… Or to quote
Arcade Fire: "if there's no music up in heaven, then what's it for ?"

  3. A proposed, unofficial soundtrack album for the film "A Sweeter Song" aka "Snapshot" (1976) reconstructed from existing tracks, with archived photographs, tributes by video artists Linda Scott & Jon Noel Shelton, and scenes from the movie….

songs from the album "Sweeter Song" by Jove

    Track Listing:.1.Overture (Snapshot Remix) 0:01
    2. Isn't It Funny 1:41 3. Thief 4:25 4. Sweeter Song 6:23
    5. Catching Up 9:24 6. Did Not Know 11:37
    7. Pay (aka Fools Gold) 14:12 8.What's So Special 16:44
    9. Actor 20:33 10. Oh You 22:45

    edit: JNS

Note: I feel when people hear a Jove song, they realize there was another side to him,
not covered in media accounts and other legends. For example, was he alone responsible
for The Rolling Stones' Redlands bust of '68, or a pawn in someone else's game? Has he been
accused of getting away with murder, without any sort of fair trial? Absolutely. To know Jove is to
consider his music and artistry, without prejudice. - JNS

  4. Using public domain footage from Prelinger Archive, I cut 5 music videos for my all time favorite recording artists. In order of appearance, the performers are: Jove, Devo, Townes Van Zandt and Abba. The videos can be seen individually on my youtube channel;http://youtube.com/user/NoelArtMedia .

Dedication: in memory of Peter Ivers, David Jove & Townes Van Zandt

    …and Jack Nance as Henry…

note: out of respect for David Lynch's masterpiece "Eraserhead", I added sepia tone, and a fisheye filter to the original silver footage. Hopefully it will inspire ideas for

    "One Saliva Bubble"

which we are all waiting to see on a double bill with:

    "Ronnie Rocket"

  5. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the classic North American independent feature film from 1976. Starring Jim Henshaw & featuring music by JOVE. This was tranferred from a vhs tape. Hopefully, the film will soon be officially made available on Blue-ray/ dvd, with a music only track, and a soundtrack cd... I've completly reconstructed the movie in the editing process, out of respect for the original, which has a dreamlike quality that I want to retain... Thanks to Billy A., Deeky, and ZAQB...

for: Lili, fans of Jove, and the movie "A Sweeter Song"
    aka "Snapshot".

    Note: contains adult content.

Quote: "Its a Canadian film, so it probably won't play for more than a week."

    - Jim Henshaw as Cory Doyle.
