1. Rick Hermann has had Parkinson's disease (PD) for 20 years - 1/3 of his life. I met him at a post show discussion following a performance about PD and multiple sclerosis called "Stories from Jim and Jo". He introduced himself to me and asked if I would consider teaching a dance class for people living with PD. I did. We have been in class together ever since. When he dances I see grace, beauty, joy...sometimes I see symptoms and sometimes I don't. He is a dancer allowing me to feel what I cannot through words. I wanted others to have this opportunity so asked if I could make a film of him for the Neuro Film Festival. I hope this film opens the door for people to see and feel Parkinson's in a way they haven't before.
