Back in August 2014, Studio Aszyk was asked to create a set of animations that would live inside the newly rebranded 3Arena Dublin (formerly the O2 Arena). The new detailing inside featured a whole host of new branded elements, lighting and also some giant projection areas for animated content - 1 (mirrored) HD one on either side of the Auditorium and 2 super-wide ones that would live just outside the main arena in the main thoroughfare and bar - if you're in Dublin at the moment, go see them live right now!
The pieces are a set of abstract animations that don't represent any form, but rather are there to invoke a feeling through their pace, colours and shapes. They are know as 'The Pink One', 'The Green One' and 'The Auditorium One' (no pompous names). The pink and the green were the super-wide ones and started life as a bunch of individual compositions, with every element animated to appear and disappear (similar to my BirdMask Visuals). These compositions were then compiled together into a larger comp and adapted to blend between one another, forming a larger, seamless composition. The result is a mesmerising minute of abstract, geometric, colourful goodness.
We discovered Swissted while traveling in California. Mike Joyce is a New-York graphist, a fanatic of rock music and graphic design who is well-known for his album covers of various artists such as Katy Perry and Iggy Pop. One day he decided to transform the vintage flyers of the punk rock bands from his youth into posters with an helvetic inspiration. Each poster expresses a new aesthetics with strict lines, colorful geometric shapes, overlapping and transparency effects and texts in the Bertold Akzidenz Grotesk medium.
This originality immediately seduced us so we decided to contact Mike Joyce with only one idea in mind : put Swissted into movement and produce a custom-made soundtrack with clips of all his cult titles.
This is how this movie was born, celebrating in motion graphics those emblematic bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

As a part of the Make It Matter campaign, I worked closely with B-Reel and agency MTZHF to create a series of short visual essays. The motion graphics were done on top of still imagery as part of a "scrolling experience" website, along with narration to boost visitors understanding of HP products. The website can be viewed here:
These were animated in After Effects, with heavy use of Plexus and Particular.
