Watching three monarch caterpillars over the Fourth of July holiday for my son's day camp. The largest one dropped into J formation yesterday evening around 5pm. Today at approximately 8:45am he formed a chrysalis.
I recorded this one with iStopMotion on my Mac at 30fps taking a picture every 20 seconds. The formation of the chrysalis was very quick. For the next one I think I will record it at a picture every 5 seconds or maybe even every second. It's just difficult to determine when the little fellas are going to work their magic.
On a trip from Overland Park, KS to Lawrence, KS back in 1990, I took a time lapse movie with a super8 camera. I was recently reviewing some of my super8 footage I had converted to VHS and this is what I found.
