In 1986 I ran for Congress in Pennsylvania in the 19th Congressional District. It was a good experience even though I just won the primary, not the general election. I enjoyed the experience and along the way of making speeches and putting out position papers I was covered by TV news. Here are some clips from those experiences.
Life experiences often contain feelings that are mixed, bitter and sweet. Death and life intertwine and still hope can be found. December 16 is a bittersweet day for me because on that date in various years some significant experiences of my life occurred.
When Seinfeld ended on TV in May of 1998 there were lots of finale parties. At St. John's United Methodist Church where I was the Contemporary Worship Director we decided to have a Seinfeld weekend. The local TV station covered it and I wrote a "Goodbye to Seinfeld" song for the occasion. Parts of it are found here along with Pastor George White sharing about what could be learned from the Seinfeld show. This was in Davenport, Iowa and was a lot of fun.
