The new single by Roel Thomas, Kissing Hand, is the soundtrack of the (war) novel Pet.
The book tells the story of Soldier of Orange under the British flag, Piet van Beurden.
It was written by his son Jan van Beurden and supplemented with nearly 40 original handwritten letters
Piet from the period 1944 to 1945. Peter, who works as an interpreter at the front and hull gunner on a Sherman Tank,
sent letters to his beloved home in Tilburg Corrie who was waiting for him.
The song Kissing Hand is a collaboration between Roel Bloks and the grandson of Pierre, Piet (er) van Beurden.
The story of his grandfather inspired Peter to write the text after artist and producer Thomas Roel
the text to music. The ballad about the thoughts and feelings of a soldier on the front show today
have the nerve to touch in a modern generation. Especially for them also made a pop mix.
On October 27, exactly 65 years after the liberation of Tilburg will Mayor Ruud Vreeman the book and the single hand
the sister of Pierre, Riet van Beurden received. 50 Scottish soldiers are also getting a DVD,
which the provisional video for the song alongside a documentary about the liberation will appear.
Especially for this occasion, both versions of the song translated into English.
Of course Thomas Roel present to the song performed live to make.
