    Poseidon was the first passenger vessel for Stena Line, and a major company for the yard. The naming ceremony was a major attraction. The vessel´s first assignment was to transport the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Mr. Nikita Khrusjtsjov and his family from Uddevalla to Gothenburg.

  5. Naming, launching and joining a trip on the car/passenger ferry 'Torulf', yno 11U, 1957. Built by Ulstein Mek. Verksted A/S for ship owner L/L Torulf, and the yard's first steel vessel. Lady sponsor was Randi Ervik, the daughter of Rolf Ervik, chairman at L/L Torulf. Everyone working in the company was invited to join the naming trip excursion to Øye in the Norang fjord (inner part of Hjørund fjord), which included fun activities and dancing on deck. Among the attendants from Ulstein mek we see Inga Ulstein (Chair of the Board), and two of her sons, yard manager Magnulf Ulstein and Kolbein Ole Ulstein.
