    Another start to finish demonstration of my latest seascape/skyscape painting. This one measures 40 x 80cm. The omitting of any structures or land leaves freedom for me to express the concept of emerging light from darkness as a metaphor for optimism and hope.
    It's been great weather of late and I've included a part at the beginning of how I like to prepare my canvases, firstly with acrylic then with an oil primer. Creating a surface and 'tooth' I like during the priming and colour ground is key to much of the textures produced later in the painting.
