1. During the era revealed in the special exhibition Impressionist Paris: City of Light, photography was making an impact on the way images were being reproduced and seen. Displaced as the industry standard for reproductive purposes, printmaking was then freed up to find a new place as an art form. Photographer and printmaker Javier Manrique demonstrates the basic principles of printmaking in an interactive process and presents samples of his printmaking techniques.

  2. For its final act, Green Sound takes you back to the de Young for a special event with impressionistic projections and the sounds of San Francisco avant-garde jazz band The Drift. Dancers from The Ballet Studio will practice and pose while being painted by artist Jeremy Sutton, dressed in period costume as a dapper Edgar Degas.
