Documentation of Action Painting (Masculine Expressionism).

Action Painting is a series of adrenaline-filled painterly animations composed using shapes and sounds sampled from Hollywood action film sequences. The project is presented as a multichannel video installation, projected onto large-scale painting canvases.

This video demonstrates how shapes sampled from gunfire scenes were transformed into splattering shapes of color.

In Action Painting, gestures are extracted from action film sequences (car chase movies, fight scenes, explosions, etc.) and used as material to compose digital paintings in the abstract expressionist style of Jackson Pollock.
