Biola requires that students spend 4 units of their experience in some form of physical activity. Colin and I chose to take on the challenge of climbing rocks in hopes of challenging ourselves and walking away with more than just a typical PE class.
The main requirement for the course was to spend a weekend out in Joshua Tree California climbing and growing in our relationships with each other and God. An unexpected obstacle came along when Colin fell on the first morning and badly sprained his ankle. Because of this he was not able to climb and had to sit out the whole weekend. I think it is incredible how God was able to speak to Colin during this trip telling him that even being out in the wilderness camping is a blessing in itself.
I developed a passion for the challenge of a good strenuous climb through this trip because it taught me that I am able to persevere even when I doubt myself.
Isaiah 41:10 - "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Every year Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs holds a youth retreat. This year it took place at a young life camp in Buena Vista over a three day period. With over 300 attending and an awesome staff it turned out to be an amazing weekend. The best part was Saturday night when almost a third of the room stood to either accept Christ or recommit their life to Him!
This piece was all shot on my Canon 7D with these lenses:
Canon 20mm 2.8
Tamron 17-50 2.8
Tokina 10-17 Fisheye
I did the edit through the night on Saturday so unfortunately I don't have Sunday footage...
Enjoy the video and let me know what you think...
I can't wait to buy L glass!!!
