1. The assignment was for an After Effects motion graphic using only stills for a community service announcement about a social problem, like homelessness, unemployment, single parents, etc. I chose vandalism, and tried to approach it in a novel way (i.e. - no gangsta rap on the soundtrack!). It met with a muted response.

  2. This assignment was to take an on-line tutorial and do something new with it. I chose the reverse shatter tutorial by Harry Frank @graymachine. I hope I got those names right. I tried to make it as if for a nightclub - so that the reverse shatter effect was some sort of recovery or getting together.

  3. This was my first attempt at 3-D modelling and animation. I did it in my Cert 4 class in 2009 at Box Hill Institute. The assignment was to make a robot, place it on an outer space environment, with planets or satellites and space junk. I found modelling in Lightwave 9 really hard. The sound track was a song by Beck - it had a lonesome feel to it I thought went with the solitary theme of the animation. I messed up the renderings which is why the aspect ratio gets boxed in places and squeezed in others.

  4. This assignment was to design a trailer and film poster based on Alice in Wonderland (the class had an excursion to see Tim Burton's version...) I went for something different, and devoted most of the time to a detailed vector illustration of Alice/Alison's head. My 3-D modelling skills are primitive at best and the sound track on this version is from a song by Broken Social Scene.
