1. The Nature Consortium is a local nonprofit environmental arts organization established in 1998. Their mission is to teach environmental lessons through the creative arts and hands-on conservation projects. This is accomplished by facilitating a city-wide Youth Art Program, an Urban Forest Restoration Project, and the annual Arts-in-Nature Festival.

Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) is a violinist, composer and performer who calls his style "dred violin", a seamless blend of funk, hip-hop and classical music that produces a new and creative sonic vision. He is currently the foremost classical-urban ambassador who intimately engages the next generation and is garnering a widening international audience. Thanks to the Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas for introducing DBR to Seattle.

    4CTV's program DBR and the Mission won a Silver Telly, the top honor of the 28th Annual competition. With a record 14,362 entries from all 50 states and around the world, this year was the most competitive in the long history of the Telly Awards. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as winners of a Silver Telly.

    Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. A panel of over 40 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents.

4Culture's award-winning 4CTV produces programs for cable broadcast, highlighting the depth and vitality of arts and heritage throughout King County. Programs are available online, and through our partners, King County TV (KCTV) and Seattle Community Access Network (SCAN).

In recent years, two 4CTV programs have been awarded prestigious Telly Awards (the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV programs and commercials.) In spring of 2010, 4CTV's profile on Donald Byrd was awarded a Bronze Telly. Additionally, in 2007 a program on DBR and the Mission won a Silver Telly, the top honor of the 28th Annual competition. Traditionally, less than 10% of entries are chosen as winners of a Silver Telly. A panel of over 40 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents.
