1. Let xpresso and python work with custom user data, so we aren't relying on any time node, only our own values. By doing this we can increase or decrease the clock. Two range mappers form the user data will drive two different value, to minimize keyframes and optimize the workflow when animating.

Making it tick is really easy if you already have watched how to make an clock engine with expresso:
and how to activate anything on selected frames:

It's a good way to work with: xpresso, python and user data in one scene to get some hands-on.

  2. Lines, curvature, perspective. Using Cinema 4d to archive the effect an intesting effect in as shown in this video:

  3. Using xpresso to make an object respond to rotation, by feeding rotation to the twist deformer. Adding a automatically but highly customizable system. Also we make sure to smooth this system and reset it, so it aren't twisted after the rotation.

    Cinema 4D!

Giving an object a more natural but also a lot of extra natural look. Adding some extra motion or characteristics to an object, really helps to sell the animation.

  4. Deformers for motion graphics and dynamics. Using an objects speed to let it affect it's own deformer. This allows for a lot of interesting motion.
    - This might not be best practice, dynamics can bend and shear the object aswell. But this is fun to set up, tehre is a lot of extra options (you could use a shader, a shear, a bend, a bulge and so on!)

    Cinema 4D!

We're setting this up in a 3rd way just for the learning purpose. While it's possible to do it with a null + a constraint tag with spring and psr (Like in the flat streak tutorial) and it's possible to do it with a memory node and a range mapper, to reset the position this time we will set it up with: fracture object, inheritance effector and a delay effector and off course with some xpresso.
