1. Time Lapse video of sunset on upper Grand Wash Cliffs in Grand Canyon Parashant National Monument.

Taken with Canon XSi, 17-55IS lens @ 20mm, ISO 200 @ f/5.6, Av mode, 10 second interval. I used an inexpensive intervalometer purchased online.

RAW files processed in Lightroom and output as 1280x720 JPEG files. Version 2 of video made with VirtualDub and deflicker 1.3 filter, at 15 frames per second.

In hindsight, shooting at 5 second interval would have been better, permitting 24 or 30 fps frame rate with a reasonable clip duration.

Unfortunately, my 8 GB SD card filled up before it got fully dark. Need a 16 or 32 GB card for this stuff! The 5D II has sRAW formats with reduced size RAW files. But I was using my 5D for sunset pictures.

Even the smallest size JPEG is higher resolution than HD, but the ability to control white balance and other development settings and synchronize all photos is a real benefit for video time lapse processing.
