I am very happy to share with you this set of animated letters made for the 36daysoftype with love and sundown coffee.
This project allowed me to test myself, to be creative, to experiment styles, techniques, and enjoy to share with all the awesome designers who participate.
My 36daysoftype was also a collaboration with BJ Derganc who is an awesome sound designer and friend that I met up at the beginning of this project, he daily made sound designs on my animations within a short time. Thank you buddy !
Long story short... For about a year I was not able to be with my son (at that time one year old) and my lovely wife because of visas bureaucracy. As my son was growing up I missed a lot of his key points, one of them being when he learned to count. One day my wife had sent me a video of him counting, so to overcome this separation I decided to create this animation with his voiceover.
AGI Open is the foremost design and education conference on the international calendar. It is a two-day event featuring over 30 of the world’s leading graphic designers – all members of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
Each year AGI Open is held in a different world city. In recent years it has been staged in Porto, Barcelona and Hong Kong. This year it is London.
AGI Open is an opportunity to hear lectures, take part in discussions and witness some soul-baring by graphic designers of all ages, disciplines and nationalities.
And it’s not called Open for nothing – members of AGI are charged with opening up their philosophies and methodologies to scrutiny. It’s the conference where nothing gets held back – everything is open.
